Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe meets with religious leaders
Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe on Wednesday 9 April 2014 led a government delegation in a meeting with leaders and representatives of the religious sector at the Sefako Makgato Presidential Guest House in Pretoria.
The meeting was provided a platform for the religious community and government to jointly reflect on the past twenty years and exchange views on how to move South Africa forward.
The meeting also discussed plans for the celebration of South Africa's 20 years of democracy.
The religious leaders indicated that since the 27th April 2014 falls on a Sunday they would urge their members to dedicate that day for their congregations to celebrate 20 years of democracy.
The religious leaders expressed their commitment to establish working partnership with government to confront current challenges and build a better South Africa.
