President to visit Western Cape COVID-19 facilities
President Cyril Ramaphosa will tomorrow, Friday 05 June 2020, visit the City of Cape Town to assess the Western Cape’s provincial response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Western Cape province currently accounts for nearly two-thirds of infections nationally.
The visit follows oversight visits by the President to Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape to evaluate the fight against COVID-19.
President Ramaphosa will be accompanied by Premier Alan Winde on his inspection of COVID-19 facilities.
President Ramaphosa will commence his visit by receiving a presentation on the Western Cape Province’s COVID-19 response strategy. He will later officiate the official opening of the Hospital of Hope and be conducted on a walk about.
The visit will culminate in a visit to the Red Dot Health Staff Transport Operations.
