President Ramaphosa to deliver eulogy for Dr Maponya

President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Tuesday, 14 January 2020, deliver the eulogy at the Special Official Funeral of esteemed business leader Dr Richard Maponya in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Dr Maponya, widely respected as the doyen of black business, passed away on Monday 6 January 2020, a few days after celebrating his 99th birthday.

The President has honoured Dr Maponya with a Special Official Funeral Category 2. In terms of this declaration, the National Flag has been flown at half-mast from Friday 10 January 2020 and will remain so until the evening of the burial.

The official funeral programme will be followed by the burial at West Park Cemetery
