President Ramaphosa to deliver the 8th Desmond Tutu International Peace Lecture

President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Monday, 08 October 2018, deliver the 8th Desmond Tutu International Peace Lecture focusing on restorative justice in South Africa 20 years after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The annual lecture, to be presented at the Artscape Theatre Centre in Cape Town, provides an influential southern hemisphere platform that contributes to international discourse about peace, human rights and justice in an increasingly globalised world.

The lecture also takes place a day after Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s 87th birthday, celebrated on 07 October.

Since its inauguration in 2011 by His Holiness The Dalai Lama, the International Peace Lecture has become a flagship event on the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation’s annual calendar.

The Lecture will take place as follows:

Date: Monday, 08 October 2018
Time: 18h30
Venue: Artscape Theatre Centre, Cape Town
