President pays tribute to late Deputy Minister Kebby Maphatsoe

President Cyril Ramaphosa offers condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and comrades of the late former Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Mr Kebby Maphatsoe. 
 
Mr Maphatsoe – a liberation fighter, Umkhonto we Sizwe combatant, student leader and parliamentarian – passed away on Tuesday, 31 August  2021, after a brief illness.
 
President Ramaphosa said: “Kebby Maphatsoe was a leader of our struggle who brought his militancy and passionate activism to all leadership roles  he occupied, including in Parliament and in the administration.
 
“Most recently, he was a tireless fighter for a better life for our military veterans, whose sacrifices delivered the freedom we enjoy today.
 
“May his soul rest in peace.”
