Deputy President Mabuza to Reply to Questions in the National Assembly
Deputy President David Mabuza will tomorrow, Thursday, 22 November 2018, update Parliament on measures taken by government to address land reform and strategies in dealing with inequalities of the past that flow from the land dispossession and economic exclusion of the majority.
The Deputy President will be briefing Members of Parliament in the National Assembly in his capacity as Leader of Government Business.
In this regard, Deputy President Mabuza is expected to outline the process undertaken by government to stimulate future investment in the economy through increased agricultural production and food security.
Deputy President Mabuza also leads government’s Anti-Poverty Programme which is committed to ending poverty, unemployment, inequality by 2030, in keeping with the National Development Plan and the new Sustainable Development Goals.
As a Patron of the Moral Regeneration Movement, the Deputy President will further expand on efforts to promote social cohesion initiatives and government’s commitment to recognize and respect the rights of all South Africans especially the rights of traditional, cultural, religious and linguistic communities as provided for and enshrined in our Constitution.
Furthermore, the Deputy President will emphasise the importance of adherence of the Members of the Executive to the Executive Members’ Ethics Act, 82 of 1998, as well as the Executive Ethics Code.
In relation to the work of the Judicial Commission of inquiry into allegations of State Capture, Corruption and Fraud in the public sector including Organs of State, the Deputy President will reiterate his support for the Commission and encourage all those who are implicated to fully cooperate with this process.
