Deputy President David Mabuza has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a Working Visit

Deputy President Mabuza, in his capacity as President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Special Envoy to South Sudan has arrived in Addis Ababa in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to continue with the consultations he has been having with the leadership of the Member States of the InterGovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), as part of facilitating efforts towards sustainable peace and stability in South Sudan.

In this round of  consultations, the Deputy President Mabuza will meet with the Chairperson of IGAD and Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali. The focus of discussions will be on the the full implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement on South Sudan and preparations for the transitional period.

In December 2018, Deputy President Mabuza met and held consultations with President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Republic of Kenya, President President Yoweri Museveni of the Republic of Uganda, President Omar Al Bashir of the Republic of the Sudan as well as President Salva Kiir Mayardit of the Republic of South Sudan. 

The visit to Ethiopia is the culmination of of the consultations the Deputy President has held with all the parties involved.
