Deputy President Mabuza to embark on a rapid response service delivery monitoring visit in Sedibeng

Deputy President David Mabuza, who is the Chairperson of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Service Delivery at District Level, will tomorrow, 12 September 2019, undertake a service delivery monitoring visit to Sebokeng, in the Emfuleni District in the Vaal Region, Gauteng Province.

The Deputy President will, among other things, inspect the Sedibeng Regional Sewer Scheme, which is one of Government’s interventions to address the water and sanitation challenges of residents of Sedibeng and surrounding areas. It is envisaged that the Sewer Scheme will create a number of job opportunities for the local community.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has delegated to the Deputy President the responsibility of implementing Rapid Response Service Delivery interventions, strengthening Government’s early warning mechanisms as well as trouble shooting in service delivery hotspots across the country.

Deputy President Mabuza will be accompanied by the Minister of Human Settlements, Water Sanitation, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu, Executive Mayor of Emfuleni District Municipality, Cllr Gift Moerane and senior government officials.
