Deputy President Mabuza visits North West Province
Deputy President David Mabuza will on Friday, 12 June 2020 pay a visit to the North West Province to assess the Province’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The visit by Deputy President is a result of the decision by the National Coronavirus Command Council that the President and the Deputy President should assess the state of readiness of all provinces, in terms of functionality of provincial and district coronavirus response structures. The North West Province currently has 657 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, and the mining area of Bojanala District Municipality is the epicentre of infections.
The Deputy President is expected to pay a courtesy call on Kgosi Leruo Molotlegi of the Royal Bafokeng House, where he will meet with Kgosi Molotlegi as part of his delegated responsibility of promoting social cohesion and supporting the President in realising the nation building project. The courtesy visit to the Kgosi, underscores the significant role that traditional leaders are playing in the fight against the coronavirus.
During this visit Deputy President Mabuza will be joined by Premier Professor Job Mokgoro in visiting facilities that are operational during alert level 3 lockdown to ensure that there is adherence of regulations to minimise the spread of coronavirus.
