President to engage with South African National Editors’ Forum

President Cyril Ramaphosa will later today, Friday, 26 February 2021, engage in a question-and-answer session with the South African National   Editors’ Forum (SANEF).

The engagement, which will be broadcast at 14h30, is part of the President’s ongoing dialogue with different sectors of society. It also fulfils   a commitment the President gave SANEF that he would interact with media as part of maintaining transparency and dialogue with various   stakeholders in society.

The engagement will take place on a virtual platform and will be broadcast publicly.

The session gives editors and senior journalists convened by SANEF an opportunity to put questions to the President on matters of national importance.  This will include the unpacking of this year’s State of the Nation Address priorities, which entail defeating the coronavirus pandemic, economic recovery, economic reform, and fighting corruption and strengthening the state.

This engagement acknowledges the important role media play in informing the nation and holding private and public institutions to account.

Details of the SANEF engagement are as follows:
Date: Friday, 26 February 2021
Time: 14h30
Platform: Zoom platform

The session will be carried live on television news channels and streamed live on a range of online platforms.
