President to reply to debate on his address to the National House of Traditional Leaders

President Cyril Ramaphosa will tomorrow, Thursday, 11 March 2021, participate in a debate on his address to the annual opening of the National House of Traditional Leaders.

The National House of Traditional Leaders provides a platform for traditional leadership to engage on how the President’s vision relates to  traditional communities and the role traditional leaders can play in advancing social cohesion and economic sustainability.
 
The National House promotes the role of traditional leadership within a democratic constitutional dispensation. As custodians of culture and  heritage, traditional leaders promote the interests of various communities and enhance unity and understanding among traditional communities, in addition to advising national government on issues affecting communities.
 
The debate will take place in a hybrid format, with a limited number of members in attendance at a designated venue in Parliament that meets COVID-19 protocols.
