Deputy President Mashatile pays tribute to former Gauteng MEC & ANC Chief Whip Mzikayifane Elias Khumalo

I join many who pay their profound tributes on the passing of Mzikayifane Elias Khumalo who is laid to rest today. 

Comrade “Mzi” as he was affectionately known, was a true servant of the people whose life was defined by humility, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of his community and our nation.

Throughout his service in government, Mr. Khumalo embodied the values of service and stewardship. His work touched many lives, and his example will continue to inspire future generations to place the needs of the people above self-interest.

On behalf of the Presidency and the Government of South Africa, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were privileged to walk alongside him in service. May they find comfort in knowing that his legacy of compassion and leadership will live on.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
